Umineko Cafe
In Japanese, "umineko" (海猫) translates to "sea cat" and refers to the black-tailed gull (Larus crassirostris). It's called "sea cat" because its call sounds similar to a cat's meow. "Naku" (鳴く) means "to make a sound" or "to cry," specifically when referring to non-human sound

Concept:
Brand Identity Design – Umineko Cafe
Umineko Cafe, based in California, is built on the brand values of being playful, friendly, and classic. To visually represent these qualities, I developed a logo that integrates the silhouette of a seagull’s head with the form of a coffee cup. This playful visual metaphor not only reinforces the cafe's coastal identity but also creates an inviting and approachable atmosphere for customers.
To balance the lightheartedness with a sense of tradition, I selected a serif typeface, which introduces a timeless, classic element to the brand. This combination of illustrative logo design and elegant typography effectively communicates Umineko Cafe’s personality and appeals to its target audience.
